License Questions
What are the Licensing terms for fonts from CheapProFonts?
The font is protected by copyright laws and International copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The font is licensed, not sold.

You may install and use an unlimited number of copies of the font within the same household, company, school or institution.

You may NOT copy or distribute the font outside of the licensed household, company, school or institution. Please ask external contacts who want to use the font to purchase their own license at www.CheapProFonts.com.

You may embed the font in electronic documents, but you may NOT include the font in a software product - this requires a special license.

You may NOT alter the font file in any way. If you want to make your own version of the font use the original free font and its license terms as a starting point like www.CheapProFonts.com have done.

The font is made to the highest technical standard we know, but we have a disclaimer:

LIMITED WARRANTY NO WARRANTIES. www.CheapProFonts.com and its designers expressly disclaims any warranty for the font. The font and any related documentation is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including, without limitation, the implied warranties or merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The entire risk arising out of use or performance of the font remains with you.

NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. In no event shall www.CheapProFonts.com or its designers be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use this product, even if www.CheapProFonts.com or its designers has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

If you have questions about this license and/or font, please consult our FAQ at www.CheapProFonts.com

We grant the rights of use of our font to you in good faith, and request that you promise to adhere to the terms of this license to the best of your ability, and in good faith.

Can the fonts really be installed on an unlimited amount of computers?
Yes! Really!
As the fonts were totally free to begin with we chose to adhere to this good spirit.
But we do ask that you only install the fonts within your own household, company, school or institution - and don't give the fonts away to external contacts.

Can I use your fonts commercially?
Yes, of course! :)
All our fonts can be used for commercial or private projects: books, magazines, pamphlets, business cards, greetings card, stationery, posters, flyers, web graphics and whatnot. Use them and enjoy them!

Can I use your fonts in a logo?
Yes, sure you can. :)
But if you want to give the logo to others for them to use: supply it as an image - external contacts who want to set the logo using the font will have to have their own license for the font.

Can I use your fonts for scrapbooking?
For your own personal projects you can use our fonts for everything! :)

If you want to distribute your creations directly to others (not the fonts themselves - that is never allowed) in a small scale there is one limitation: under the basic license you are NOT allowed to make single letter art. Making an alphabet kit can be compared to distributing the font itself. You MAY get permission for such use, but it comes at an extra cost (a one-time fee of $100 per font).

All other uses are OK: graphics with words or phrases incorporated, letters as parts of more elaborate graphics – anything where the single letters are NOT the main part of the graphic, really.

This kind of usage is ok for small scrapbooking businesses. If the work (using our fonts) is to be sold by a larger scrapbooking company, then we require that you work out a separate commercial licensing fee with us.

Can I use your fonts in software and games?
For secure embedding (either bitmap or outline) of our fonts in software the licensing is quite simple: just make sure to purchase a double license per font per software. Short and simple. Just purchase the font and change the quantity to 2 in the shopping cart :)

So for $20 you will be allowed to include the font in your software and distribute as many copies of that software as you want to. No limit. If you make a demo of the software (=another binary/program so to speak) you should also purchase a $20 license for that. And if you make a sequel, another license @ $20 for that. And so on.

One double license per font per software.
And a credit would be nice ;)

Can I use @font-face embedding with your fonts?
In their original format (OpenType or TrueType): NO!
Putting the original font files on your web server and using @font-face to call on their use is equal to placing them open for anybody to download and use on their own computers! It is font distribution, plain and simple! Not allowed!

But... :)

You may convert our fonts (with your preferred subset) to EOT, WOFF and/or SVG format and place and call those files on your web server. These formats are made for web use only, and are considered safe enough to prevent casual abuse. You must also use server-side protection to make sure the files are not accessed by external sources.

For such use you must purchase a separate license. One extra license covers use on only one website (where you place your EOT/WOFF/SVG files converted with f.ex. FontSquirrels @font-face Generator - or host them with f.ex. TypeFront). Want to use the font on another web site? purchase yet another license. Etc.
If you want to offer the fonts for use by multiple users on a web solution (like blog sites and other social hosting solutions) we require that you work out a separate commercial licensing fee with us.

Why am I not allowed to edit/change the font files?
I have put a lot of work into expanding the character set and making the fonts in a professional quality. I have contacted the original designers and gotten their approval. I offer the fonts for sale at a modest price and with very generous license terms.
If you want to make your own version, you should put in as much work as I did ;)
Note that this restrictions refer to altering the actual fonts themselves, not what you make with them. As long as you don’t alter the font files in font creation software such as FontLab or Fontographer you’re free to create anything you like with them.
